I’m an actor, writer and filmmaker. I’m currently working on my very first web series I co-created with 3 other lady geniuses: @hubleym @kelseygillian and Bronwyn. The web series is called How To Be  A Friend. It’s a comedy (well, that’s what I hope you’ll all think it is). Our first episode should be will be up online very soon (with links to come!). If I’m not working on this web series, I’m acting out every week at Carter Thor East and working on making some (short & feature) films in the near future.

My gear: right now, I’m using a Nikon D90 and a Zoom H4n recorder. I know that there are much better options out there that the majority of the indie filmmakers use, but I’m totally up for experimenting with a DSLR and seeing what I can create with it. The story is the most important thing! Since I’m still learning a lot about the filmmaking process, especially on a no/very low budget, I will probably blog about my experiences on this site (like this).

2. I’m an artist who also happens to be a web geek and who also talks business.

That’s a lot of also’s. Here’s another one: I’m also a freelance creative. I’ve worked with other entrepreneurs on creative aspects of their businesses, such email marketing strategy and ebook design.

I also offer coaching services to entrepreneurs on their online web presence. In a nutshell: I coach people on improving their appearance on-camera. For those who are shy/scared/nervous about recording a video of themselves to put on their website, I’m here to help them with those fears and worries.

3. A little more about me

  • I like to write in lists. Just ask my friends.
  • Some of my favourite films: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Amélie, The Shawshank Redemption, Mean Girls, (500) Days of Summer, When Harry Met Sally, The Breakfast Club, Harry Potter everything, The Dark Knight
  • I watch a lot of TV. Luckily, thanks to technological advancement, I can watch my favourite shows whenever, wherever. These shows would include: The Office, How I Met Your Mother, Grey’s Anatomy, United States of Tara, So You Think You Can Dance
  • Shows I was sad to see end: Arrested Development, Veronica Mars, Felicity, Traveler, Flash Forward
  • I’ve always been a dog person. I’m slowly warming up to cats.
  • I’m into astrology. I seriously believe that the stars and the cosmos have some sort of involvement in our lives. Oh, and I’m a Sagittarius.
  • I used to be all about reading fiction books. But lately I’ve been reading non-fiction non-stop.
  • If you combined the film/tv characters of Clementine (from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), Amélie and Veronica Mars … you’d get me in a nutshell.
  • I chose to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled out while awake. I had this serious fear that I wouldn’t wake up after they put me to sleep.
  • I associate the word ‘relax’ with adrenaline rush – I just can’t stay still. I need to be doing something or working on something (that I find fun and relaxing!)
  • My web geek-iness all started in 7th grade when we had this workshop where we learned how to design a web page. HTML, tables, <body>, </p> … I was having a blast in ’97.
